June 11, 2007 — Gas down The average price of a gallon of gasoline in the U.S. fell a little more than 7 cents in the past three weeks, marking the first drop since mid-Jan uary, an industry analyst said yesterday. The na tional average for self- serve, regular unleaded gas was $3.1090 a gallon last week, which was 7.37 cents per gallon cheaper than in the past three weeks, according to the nationwide survey of about 7,000 gas stations. The average price for a gallon of gasoline bot tomed out for the year on Jan. 19 at $2.1846, but then rose $1 to $3.1827 by May 18. Boeing Boeing won an order valued at about $3 billion from OAO Aeroflot for 22 Dreamliners in a pos sible sign of better rela tions between the U.S. and Russia. Boeing and state-run Aeroflot signed a contract yesterday at the St. Petersburg Inter national Economic Forum, which brought together more than 200 companies. The first of the 787-8 Dreamliners will be delivered to Aer oflot in 2014, Chief Exec utive Officer Valery Okulov said after the ceremony. Group buy General Motors, Ford and DaimlerChrysler’s Chrysler may create an independent health-in surance fund to trim their combined $114 bil lion in future retiree health-care obligations, sources said. The auto makers would each con tribute to the fund to pay for health-care benefits of United Auto Workers retirees. China cell Ericsson yesterday signed a wireless agree ment with China Mobile valued at about $1 billion. Under the pact, Ericsson will supply core and radio network gear, along with related tech nical support and serv ices, to expand China Mobile’s GSM coverage in 19 regions of China.

« Bell Canada backs buyout offer
OTTAWA: Bell Canadas directors endorsed a buyout offer Saturday from the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan and Providence Equity Partners, the company said in a statement. If approved by shareholders, the deal would be Canadas largest takeover to date, worth about 51.7 billion Canadian dollars, or $48.8 billion, after assumption of debt and other factors, and among the largest leveraged buyouts in history. The announcement from Canadas largest communications company came with unusual swiftness....
